LUSH Bath Bomb Accident...

One day I will post something other than LUSH. Ha.

Anyway, I had an accident with a LUSH bath bomb a couple of weeks ago... a rather purple/pink accident!

Meet Pheonix Rising... an attractive little bath bomb that smells AMAZING. I am in love with the hint of cinnamon and it left my skin feeling really soft, always a plus.

Sadly that's where my love affair is going to end, as much as I love the smell and the result, the excessive amount of glitter was too much. I tried desperately to hose myself down after my bath, but no, there was glitter EVERYWHERE (yup, literally everywhere...) By the time I'd dried myself off, it was covering the towel, bathmat and apparently ended up covering my poor Ginseng plant. To make matters worse it dyed my bath pink, which was sort of rectified with some GIF cream, numerous scrub downs later. I can't imagine what the landlady would have said but luckily she didn't notice when we moved out. I could have lost some of my deposit for having a bright pink bath! :-(

My skin smelt and felt amazing, but I now resembled something from Twilight. Only I didn't realise how bad it was until we went out for dinner and I'm staring at my reflection awkwardly in the bathroom, wondering why I have a glittery chest, chin and why did I look vaguely purple..? I also noticed it falling out of my hair when I was eating, it made my pasta sparkly too!

I didn't realise how bad the dye was until I got home either, I'd been in that much of a rush to get ready. (Took too long in the bath, oops!) It dyed my pale skin a little purple, but it wasn't an obvious purple so I hadn't noticed it at first. To top it all off I had a couple of patches of dermatitis, and the dye turned these an angry shade of purple. So I looked a mess... Oh man, never again.

So sorry LUSH! My brief love affair is ending here.

Angels on Bare Skin - LUSH

I purchased this a few days ago, and I'm really not sure how to feel about it. I'm on a mission to try everything in LUSH (haha a very crazy and expensive mission). Although realistically I'm not going to go in there and buy bags full of stuff, I have a list of things I'd like to try and I'm slowly working my way through, currently at the rate of one product a month!

I needed a cleanser, because I'm sick and tired of the ones I buy in drug stores drying my face out. I have combination skin, a very oil nose and chin, but everywhere else is fine... until it gets wet and then my skin becomes really dry. I dread using face wash and cleansers sometimes because they just make it worse. *sad face* :-(

So the nice woman in LUSH told me to try the Angels on Bare Skin, which I have been doing for about five days. It's great, in terms of results. For the first time in ages I've been able to wash my face without having to stick it in a tub of moisturiser afterwards. This morning I even forgot to moisturise, something which hasn't happened in years. It makes my skin feel amazing, the texture and application is worth it for the results... as I seem to be finding with a lot of LUSH products! :-)

However it does come with a classic LUSH problem, the texture! For me, it's too lumpy, almost like the Rudolph face mask was at Christmas. Also, there seems to be a whole field of lavender in my pot!!! You're supposed to add water to make it into a paste, but I have yet to perfect this art, so I'm getting clumpy bits in my hair and all over the sink. My morning routine is now;

Apply face cleanser

Shower and massage my face there, so I don't get clumps of stuff all over the sink and floor.

The first time I used this I had showered the night before, and ended up going out with bits of the cleanser in my hair. Not a great look! So now I don't use it unless I'm showering.

If anyone has had any success with any other LUSH cleansers, or even store bought ones that aren't LUSH, please let me know! I'm on the hunt for something that won't dry my poor face out!
